ISR's -- 1993 Season
There are too many cases of unknown dates in the historical records that I used to re-create this data set for me to be able to do weekly updates as I have in later years, so these are end-of-year ratings only.
The score set behind this is incomplete, but it's close enough to justify publication. Teams with incomplete game records are listed at the bottom; in most cases, it's possible to find their D1 records by using "reflected light"; most missing D1 games can be identified through the missing team's opponents. Since most of these are unlikely to have played each other, it's likely that the great bulk of the missing games are against non-D1 competition and wouldn't have an impact on the ratings.
1993 was a testimony to a much smaller level of competitive parity, although you have to understand what's going on behind the scenes to see that. In general, the old six-team regionals were a rollicking good time, but they were also a real mess in terms of sending the best teams along, and that became much more obvious in the late '90's. However, 1993 represents what could be the strongest Omaha field in history (any other candidates won't be many years before, since it would have to be after the move away from true regionalism in field creation in the late '80's) - the final 8 included the #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #9, and #12 teams in the final ISR below. #7 Fullerton got sent to Texas, and #8 Baylor got sent to LSU, so the only real "upset" in the regionals came from underseeded 3 seed Kansas beating Tennessee and Clemson.

(*) There's a game between Utah and Southern Utah where both teams list the other as the winner and both teams submitted their overall record in ways that support that. Newspaper references from the time have SUU winning the game, so I've accepted that result and modified the SUU record.
